Muizenberg Eco-Surf Challenge
The Muizenberg Eco-Surf Competition is a surf contest whose purpose is to educate and raise awareness about sustainability while growing its local community — an eco-challenge encouraging young people towards sustainable lifestyle changes, reducing the impact climate change has on future generations.
Participation: open to local junior surfers and students of Nexgen Surf School under 16. Sign-up forms at Nexgen Surf School, or contact Wade directly at (+27) 67 968 4820. Entry fee R50 + mandatory entry form.
Event program: 8.00 Set Up · 9.00 Competition Start + Briefing · 9.30 First Heats · 15.00 Beach Clean-up Setup · 15.30 Voluntary Beach Clean-up · 16.30 Prize Giving · 17.30 Take Down.
Format: mixed-gender, 4-person heats set in consultation with the kids and their coaches. By participating, kids are challenged to support a healthy, clean and beautiful environment — and stay excited for future events to come.
