Rüzgar writes a song about saving the planet
CAN is pleased to announce our winner for September 2022. 10 year old Rüzgar Tonak is our youngest competition winner — this rising star out of Turkey hopes to one day change the world for the better, and we believe in Rüzgar. His song, "Stop The Greenhouse Gas", is a collaboration between him and his guitar teacher — Abdullah Çiçek.

About the competition
What is "SONGS FOR OUR CLIMATE"? +
We are looking to promote any good song promoting or concerning Climate Action or Climate Change. The song could be about how you feel or are affected by these issues, or it may be protesting the destruction of land, earth, fresh water, sea, or about reducing emissions, single-use plastic or whatever you feel is important. You have full artistic and creative freedom to share your feelings about the existential issues. A universal message that can help people relate to and influence all ages / nationalities / cultures is welcome. Any questions, please email info@climateactionsnow.org.
What is the topic? +
Any song promoting Climate Action will be accepted. It can be about protecting earth, reducing emissions or denouncing single-use plastic. Be creative and share your best lyrical tips to save the planet! Remember to try and promote a universal message that can relate to and influence all nationalities, cultures and ages.
What is the prize? +
The winner will receive a grand prize of R1500 in SA or 100 Euros in the EU or US $100 as an advance on a one song publishing deal. CAN, with its many Climate Action Race to Zero partners, will help promote winners’ songs — in some cases professionally produced — and expose them to an international audience via the Climate Actions Now website, social media platforms and those of our partners. The best talent will also be invited to perform at our upcoming events showcased globally.

How to take part? +
You can take part in 2 easy steps: make a song for Climate Action, and submit it via our submission form.
Who will vote? +
A panel of music industry judges will decide the winners that CAN will offer publishing deals.
In which format should I submit the song? +
You can submit a song-track or a video that sees you playing live, or even a music clip to a song you made. All formats are accepted, as long as it is your original music!
